Welcome to the new website for the Donner Lake Property Owners Association (“DLPOA”). It is my privilege to serve as the current President of the DLPOA. Through the DLPOA website, you can learn more about the DLPOA, membership eligibility, and activities. For existing members, you can also renew your membership, register watercraft for the upcoming season, and ensure that your membership information is accurate and up to date. We are in the process of adding content to the website; if you are looking for information that you believe is missing, please let us know and we will try to add it.
The DLPOA was originally established in 1957 and incorporated as a California nonprofit corporation. The primary purpose of the DLPOA is to operate the DLPOA beach and associated amenities. The beach is open seasonally from late May through early October, weather permitting. The beach is operated by dedicated volunteers and a staff who operate it daily throughout the season.
As stated at the time of incorporation, the purpose of the DLPOA is “[t]o maintain or improve the recreational facilities of Association properties consistent with environmental preservation of such properties and Donner Lake” and “[t]o promote good fellowship, neighborliness [and] living by the Golden Rule on behalf of all of the Association.” Nearly seventy years later, these guiding principles still serve as the standard by which the DLPOA and its members should operate. The rules and guidelines you will find published on this website are grounded in the same ideals of treating others as you would want to be treated by them and being neighborly towards all in the Association. These values remain as important as ever.
The other purpose defined by the DLPOA founders in the 1957 governing documents was [t]o keep members informed of the various actions, meetings, plans and accomplishments of the Association.” To that end, we hope that this website is a resource for all members to stay informed and current about the activities of the DLPOA. It will be updated throughout the year.
While the membership has grown, the DLPOA, through its Board of Directors and committees, remains a volunteer driven organization. We encourage your input and participation.
